Norwegian September Gas Output Down

Norway's offshore regulator Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reported October 15 another drop in national oil and gas output in September, with gas sales of 5.8bn m³, down 2.4bn m³ from the previous month. On the positive side, its gas exports were spared from very low hub prices.

Daily average gas output of 192.7mn m³/day was about a third lower than the forecast of 294.6mn m³/day and last September's actual 300.7mn m³/day. Maintenance work has apparently been more extensive and dragged on longer than expected. It was the fifth month in a row that output fell short of the forecast, leaving Norway with four months to make up a loss in output. This year it has produced 84.88bn m³, compared with last year's 90.69bn m³ in the first three quarters.

Oil and liquids output has also been lower than forecast this year.
