Ofgem To Restructure in April

Britain's energy regulator Ofgem said January 15 it will streamline its structure in April into three divisions, ahead of its relocation to a new building in Canary Wharf in London.

Its regulatory functions will be streamlined into three divisions: Consumers and Markets, looking after both wholesale and retail markets, enforcement and consumers; System Operation and Networks, which will focus resources on the next round of network price controls due to start in 2021 and prepare for rapid changes in Britain's energy system; and Corporate & Scheme Services, which will provide business support services to Ofgem and run environmental schemes for government.  It also said two senior managers, Andrew Wright and Chris Poulton, would leave over the next few months.

The re-organisation will replace its existing six-division structure
