OGDCL reports gas condensate discovery in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDCL) announced on August 6 a gas condensate discovery in the Razgir-1 exploratory well, located in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The project is a joint venture involving OGDCL, MOL Pakistan, Pakistan Petroleum, Pakistan Oilfields, and Government Holdings Private. The well was spudded on January 9 and successfully drilled to a depth of 3,773.98 m. Based on the interpretation of wireline log data, the Kawagarh-1 formation was tested at a rate of approximately 16.4mn ft3/day and 159 barrels/day of condensate, according to OGDCL.
“This new discovery has de-risked further exploration in the Tal block, leading to new opportunities. This discovery will help enhance the country’s indigenous hydrocarbon supply and add to the hydrocarbon reserves base,” the company stated.
Last month, OGDCL announced the discovery of gas condensate from the Lumshiwal-1 zone at the Razgir-1 exploratory well, also located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
