OGDCL reports gas discovery in Pakistan's Sindh province

Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) on February 19 announced gas-condensate discovery from the Kharo-1 well, located in the Khewari exploration block in Pakistan's Sindh province.

Operated by OGDCL with a 95% working interest, and with Government Holdings Private as the joint venture partner holding a 5% working interest, the Kharo-1 well was drilled to a depth of 3,762 meters. Subsequent testing procedures revealed a gas flow of 14.3mn ft3/day and 93 barrels/day of condensate.

The company stated that the discovery has the potential to “significantly enhance” its hydrocarbon reserves, and ultimately contribute to the national energy resources of Pakistan.
