Oil Search has said that its Taza 1 exploration well in Kurdistan has flowed between 400 and 500 barrels of 38 degree API oil and 1mln cubic feet of gas per day.

The partners in Taza 1 are Oil Search which owns 60% and Total which owns 20% of the venture. Th er erst 20% is owned by the Kurdiatn regional Government.

The Taza Prospect is located approx. 80 kms southwest of the city of Sulaymaniyah. The primary objectives are Miocene and Oligocene carbonates of the Jeribe and Euphrates Formations.
