Oman Inks Oil, Gas Exploration Deal with PetroTel

Oman's has signed a deal with PetroTel under which the company will explore for oil and natural gas in Blocks 39 & 67 which occupy 13,379 sq km in Dhofar Governorate, Oman Tribune reported.

PetroTel will reprocess old 2D seismic, acquire new 2D seismic and perform geological and geophysical studies. Based on the result of the seismic programme and the studies, the company will drill wells during exploration periods, the new report said.

In recent years, Oman has signed various oil and gas exploration contracts to boost domestic energy output. Earlier this month the Sultanate inked a deal with Hungary’s MOL Group.
