Oman has offered three new oil and gas concessions for local and international oil companies, Muscat Daily reported on March 26 citing a statement by the country’s energy and minerals ministry. This offering is the first batch of the 2023 licensing round.

Block 15 is located within Oman’s northern oil province some 250 km west of Muscat. Tight gas is the predominant play within the block, the ministry said.

Block 36 is along the border with Saudi Arabia and Yemen and is at the southeastern edge of the Eastern Rub al Khali basin. Block 54 is located in a lightly drilled area, the Eastern Flank province.
