Oman pens exploration agreement with CC Energy
Oman's ministry of energy and minerals has signed an agreement with CC Energy Development for oil and gas exploration activities in concession areas 38 and 74, according to a report by Oman News Agency on January 7.
Under the agreement, CC Energy Development will undertake geological and geophysical studies, as well as seismic surveys to assess the oil and gas potential within the specified areas.
Concession area 38, situated in the southwestern part of the Dhofar Governorate, spans approximately 17,425 km2, while concession area 74, located in the south-eastern part of the governorate, covers an area of 3,064 km2.
Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Oman’s minister of energy and minerals, highlighted that this agreement signifies the country's commitment to expanding exploration and prospecting efforts to tap into potential oil and gas resources.
