Orce Energy, Senex to Spud Cooper Basin Unconventional Well This Week

Orca Energy and Senex Energy are expected to spud their Cooper Basin unconventional well, Kingston Rule-1, this week. Weatherford Drill Rig 826 has now been mobilised to site at Kingston Rule-1.

The well will target the greatest net thickness of potential shale, siltstone and tight sandstone in the Roseneath-EpsilonMurteree targets, as well as potential net pay in the Patchawarra tight sand intervals.

The location of block PEL 115 is significantly strategic as it is completely surrounded by PEL 516, where Senex estimates over 100Tcf Gas-in-Place from shales and coals alone. Senex recently announced a significant gas discovery at Skipton-1, including more than 75m of net pay in the Patchawarra Formation and 164m of gas charged Roseneath and Murteree shales.
