Origin Energy Starts Drilling in Victoria's Otway Basin

Origin Energy Limited has commenced drilling of Geographe 2 development well in Victoria's Otway Basin.

Geographe 2 is one of two wells being drilled by Origin as part of the Geographe gas field development. The wells will be completed and connected to the existing Thylacine offshore platform via a subsea production system.

Approval for the development of the Geographe field was obtained in October 2011. The Otway Gas Project development was sanctioned in 2004 and production from Thylacine started in the middle of 2007.
