Oz Senex Updates on Surat Basin Production

Australia’s Senex Energy January 22 said gas production at its Surat Basin projects in Queensland has reached 20 terajoules/day.

Senex said that Roma North gas production is over 13.5 terojoules/day while Atlas gas production has topped 6.5 terajoules/day. Roma North production is tracking towards the plant’s initial capacity of 16 terajoules/day, the company added.

“Senex starts 2020 with most of its Surat Basin gas development program successfully delivered and gas production rates continuing to outperform,” CEO Ian Davies said. “We are delighted with our operational and production performance to date, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the potential of our Surat Basin assets.”

At Roma North, Senex has drilled 26 wells in the current programme, with 10 of these wells online and producing and the remainder to be brought online in the coming weeks. At Atlas, the first 23 wells are online and producing, with most wells being online for less than nine weeks, Senex said.
