Oz Woodside takes delivery of final Pluto 2 modules

Woodside Energy said December 22 it had taken delivery of the final Train 2 modules for its Pluto LNG facility in Karratha, Western Australia.

The completion of the Pluto Train 2 module programme, Woodside said, advances the Scarborough Energy Project towards the targeted first delivery of LNG in 2026.

Since February 2024, a total of 51 modules, with a combined weight of some 56,000 tonnes, have been shipped to Karratha from the module fabrication yard in Batam, Indonesia.

“The scale of what has been delivered is an incredible achievement and reflects the team’s commitment and professionalism,” said Liz Westcott, Woodside’s executive vice president and COO for Australia. “The Scarborough Energy Project has made significant progress across multiple work fronts and is now over three quarters complete.”

Pluto Train 2 will have the capacity to produce some 5mn tonnes/year of LNG, drawing gas from the offshore Scarborough field. The expanded Pluto LNG facility includes new domestic gas infrastructure and will have the capacity to supply up to 225 terrajoules/day of natural gas to the Western Australia market.
