Pakistan Announces New Gas Find
Pakistan's Oil and Gas Development Co (OGDCL) and its partners have made a gas and condensate discovery in the country's northwest, the state-owned company announced on August 25.
The Togh Bala-01 well was sunk in the Kohat district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to a depth of 2,172 metres. It test-flowed 9mn ft 3/day of gas and 125 barrels/day of condensate from the Lockhart formation, OGDCL said in a stock filing.
OGDCL operates the site with a 50% stake, while partners Mari Petroleum and Saif Energy hold shares of 33.33% and 16.67% respectively. The company reported another gas find in the Kohat district last September.
OGDCL also completed a well this month at the Guddu block straddling Pakistan's Punjab and Sindh provinces, but failed to find commercial volumes of gas.
