Pakistan to Start Work on IP Pipeline on March 11
Pakistani government has directed the National Engineering Service Pakistan (Nespak) to begin the construction of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline from March 11 this year, Business Recorder has said in a report.
Relevant officials of Inter State Gas System (ISGS), Nespak, and Tadbir Energy of Iran along with senior government officials would formally inaugurate the project in Islamabad on March 13, the report said.
Business Recorder said citing a government official that the ceremony would mark the start of work by an Iranian-Pakistani consortium on the pipeline on the Pakistani side of the border.
Iran has already offered Pakistan $500 million loan and the two countries have already signed an inter-governmental co-operation agreement.
