Pertamina Hulu Energy to Drill 14 CBM Wells This Year

PT Pertamina Hulu Energy, a unit of PT Pertamina, plans to drill 14 CBM exploration wells this year in Sangatta, East Kalimantan and Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, newspaper reports said.

Output from each well is expected to be 0.5 to 2 million cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

Tanjung Enim’s CBM block, with 0.8 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of reserves, is scheduled to start producing in 2013 with gas volume reaching 60 mmscfd.

Indonesia’s CBM reserves are mainly located in South Sumatra with 183 tcf, Barito with 101.6 tcf, Kutai with 80.4 tcf and Central Sumatra at 52.5 tcf.
