Pertamina, Marubeni Sign Gas Turbine Deal with GE
A consortium of Pertamina and Japan’s Marubeni have signed an agreement with General Electric for the supply of gas turbines for a $2 billion (RM8.14 billion) power plant in Java, Indonesia.
The Pertamina-Marubeni consortium is planning to bid to build and operate the 1,600 MW plant, which would be the biggest gas and steam power station in Indonesia, Pertamina said in a statement issued Sunday, adding that the partnership at this stage is important to prepare for the tender for the project. State owned Perusahaan Listrik Negara will open a tender for the project in May this year.
Pertamina said the consortium will cooperate with Samsung C&T for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the project.
Indonesia has planned to build more than 35 gigawatts of power stations by 2019.
