PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Co. Produced 10bcm of Gas in H1

PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company produced 9.83 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas during the first half of 2016.

Gas production during the six months was higher by 2.4 bcm compared with same period last year and constituted 51.7 percent of the annual plan, the company said in a statement earlier this month. The company managed to sell 10.23 bcm of gas during the period.

In the first half of this year, Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company moved ahead with development of Changning-Weiyuan shale gas demonstration area in Sichuan province. The first half shale gas output stood at 1.154 bcm. The Changing-Weiyuan area was recognized as national demonstration zone on shale gas exploration and development by National Energy Administration in March 2012.

Company’s Moxi block of Anyue gas field in Sichuan produced 4.325 bcm of gas in the first six months the year. There were 38 wells in operation.

Output at Luojiazhai sour gas field was also higher during the first half of the ear. The field has produced 390 million cubic meters of natural gas during the period.
