Petrofac Lands $40mn UAE Contract

Petrofac has bagged a $40mn engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract from Sharjah National Oil Corp. for a project in the UAE, the UK-based firm announced on February 20.

Petrofac did not disclose details of the contract, nor which project it covered, but said the award "leverages Petrofac’s best-in-class expertise and experience in upstream gas" as the company "looks to develop its track record in smaller greenfield and brownfield EPC projects."

Earlier this week Petrofac secured a further $1.65bn in contracts from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. for work at the UAE's offshore Dalma gas project. The company has been working in the country since 1991.
