Petrofac Scores BP Deals in North Sea
UK services provider Petrofac said on May 12 it had been awarded by BP a three-year extension to its maintenance contract and a new four-year metering contract. It did not say how much the deals were worth.
The metering services contract covers onshore and offshore consulting and support services, Petrofac said, noting it would continue to harness digital technology to drive improvements and increase efficiencies for BP. Under the maintenance agreement, Petrofac will continue to provide campaign inspection and maintenance services at the UK major's North Sea assets, many of which it has worked at for the past decade.
Petrofac has worked with BP to digitalise all forms of campaign maintenance and inspection activity, resulting in productivity gains, the company said.
"We are proud to build on our long-standing relationship with BP, who have been an early adopter of our digital execution processes," Petrofac's managing director for engineering and production services, Nick Shorten commented. "We look forward to building on the gains made through this approach and establishing our metering services provision."
Earlier in May Petrofac also secured two three-year contract renewals in the UK worth $100mn from an unidentified international oil company. The previous month, however, it lost $1.5bn when the UAE's Adnoc cancelled awards.
