Petrovietnam Flows Gas from South China Sea Project
Petrovietnam has flowed first gas from wellhead platforms Jupiter 1 in Hai Thach and Moc Tinh gas and condensate field of the South China Sea Project.
The project with expected life of almost 25 years could produce 25 million barrels of condensate and 8.5 cubic meters of gas per day.
Petrovietnam said that the gas would be transferred to shore via Nam Con Son gas 1 pipeline under contract gas distribution with Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas).
The Hai Thach in Blocks 05.2 and 05.3 and Moc Tinh in Block 05.3 offshore Vietnam have estimated combined reserves of 55.6 Bcm of gas and 25.1 million mt of gas condensate, Platts said in a report citing Gazprom.
Gazprom in April last year signed a deal to acquire a 49% stake in the project with PetroVietnam holding the remainder, Platts said.
