PetroVietnam Gas Exceeds 2015 Gas Production Target

PetroVietnam Gas said earlier this month that its gas production in 2015 surpassed the full year target.

Natural gas production during the year stood at 10.42 billion cubic meters, 107 percent of the planned target, the company said in a statement published on December 16. The state owned firm supplied more than 100 bcm of gas to customers.

The company sold 1.32 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas, higher than its own annual target of 960,000 tons. Its condensate production was 57,700 tons, 20 percent higher than its target.

PetroVietnam Gas also announced the startup of first phase of Nam Con Son gas pipeline project. Nam Con Son-2 gas pipeline was included in the General Plan for Development of the Gas Industry of the South Eastern Region of Vietnam until 2015, with an outlook until 2025. The purpose of the project is to produce gas from the Nam Con Son and Cuu Long basins offshore Vietnam.

The capacity of the two phase Nam Con Son-2 gas pipeline 7 bcm per year and 1,320 tons of condensate per day. Its length is 325km, and thereafter, another 39km section stretches from Longhai to Fumi’s fertiliser plant and gas refinery with its capacity of 10mn/m3 of gas per day.

The implementation of the Nam Con Son-2 project started in 2011.
