NGE Notes: PGNiG Seeks 20% Reduction on Gas Tariff

A report from Dziennik Gazeta Prawna newspaper indicates that PGNiG is seeking a gas price reduction from Gazprom that would bring it closer in line to the average price paid bu other Euopean nations.

The state-owned oil and gas firm is targeting a 20 percent discount, which would bring its costs to $450 per 1,000 cu m.

This past June, Gazprom indicated that it had completed pricing re-negotiations with all customers wirh the expection onf PGNiG and Germany's E.ON Ruhrgas and RWE Transgas.

E.ON has reported that it has reached an agreement with Gazprom to receive an undisclosed discount. RWE has said it expected to reach a deal with Gazprom in late 2012.
