PGNiG Starts Exploration on Shale Deposits in Pomerania
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) started exploration operations to have a better understanding of shale deposits in Pomerania, on the south shore of the Baltic Sea.
‘Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA has begun to drill a vertical exploratory borehole, Miłowo-1, the purpose of which is to investigate the hydrocarbon potential of shale deposits,’ reads a note released on Thursday.
According to the company, the target depth is 3,800 metres and works will take around two months.
The Milowo-1 will be PGNiG’s 13th borehole in Poland. The company is also active in its Wejherowo licence area.
