PGNiG to Up Gas Production in 2013
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) has said that it will increase its natural gas production in 2013, up from the 4.7 billion cubic metres of gas planned for this year to 4.9 billion cubic metres of gas.
The company says the increase will be possible mainly due to increased production in Norway, which will rise by 0.2 billion cubic metres next year, increasing to 0.4 billion cubic metres in 2013 as opposed to the 0.2 bcm a year expected for 2012.
The company does not expect its domestic production to rise this year, with expected yields remaining the same as 2011, but says that it will be developing its options in relation to these domestic productions and will develop its existing reserves. These reserves will become available once the extension of the Kościan node has been completed and the Kościan-Szczyglice gas pipeline has been placed in service, PGNiG says.
PGNiG says that the completion of these projects will allow the company to sell additional gas to both domestic customers and to the distribution system.
