Platts: Israel Approves Two Pipeline Connections for Natural Gas Deliveries to Jordan

Israel's National Planning Commission has approved two proposed pipeline connections allowing the delivery of natural gas to Jordan.

The commission voted Tuesday to approve the routes for pipeline links to Jordan from the north at Bet Shean and in the south at the Dead Sea.

Israel's Interior Ministry, under which the commission operates, said the two locations will allow for the necessary safety, support and reliability for the future export of gas to Jordan.

Commission Shuki Armani said in a statement that "exporting gas to Jordan is a project of national importance, including in the foreign affairs field, that necessitates a system of highest reliability." MORE
