Platts: South Korea Steps up LNG Imports from Equatorial Guinea in 2015
South Korea has stepped up LNG imports from Equatorial Guinea with four cargoes delivered to its import terminals so far in 2015, data from Platts' unit Bentek showed Wednesday, February 25.
South Korea received only one cargo from Equatorial Guinea's LNG export plant last year, delivered in February, at $18.92/MMBtu CIF, and a total of two cargoes in 2013, delivered in February and April, at slightly above $17/MMBtu CIF, according to South Korea's import data.
In 2015, portfolio seller BG, the only offtaker from the EG LNG facility, has so far delivered four cargoes to South Korea, all of them discharged at terminals operated by state-owned Kogas, the world's largest LNG consumer.
The Methane Lydon Volney delivered to the Incheon terminal on January 21, the Maran Gas Efessos to Pyeongtaek January 29, the Golar Grand to Incheon February 7, and the Methane Nile Eagle to Incheon February 24, Platts' ship-tracking software cFlow showed. MORE
