San Leon Announces Highest Treatment Pump Rate Outside North America
San Leon Energy announced it completed the hydraulic fracture of Lewino-1G2 well in Gdansk W Concession in Poland, reads a note released by the company, adding that it attained the highest average main treatment pump rate outside North America.
The press release explained that United Oilfield Services (UOS), an oilfield service company focused on providing hydraulic fracturing and seismic data acquisition services, carried out the operations in the concession in the Baltic Sea.
“United Oilfield Services (UOS) carried out the operation yesterday and attained an average main treatment pump rate of 120 barrels per minute at pressure, which is the highest achieved outside North America. The pumping lasted less than three hours,” reads the note released on Wednesday.
San Leon Energy acquired the interests of Talisman Energy at a number of key sites in Poland in May. The company acquired full ownership of the Gdansk W and Braniewo S concessions, and a 50% interest in the Szczawno concession.
“We are very satisfied with the initial results achieved by this operation. A high rate was an integral part of our frack design and to achieve a rate at the top end of that spectrum is very encouraging,” commented Oisin Fanning, Executive Chairman of San Leon Energy.
On Wednesday, San Leon Energy said it would farm out its oilfield in the Braniewo S concession. Shares in the company soared during the day.
