Revised Polish Hydrocarbon Law Targets 2015 Implementation

Poland is targeting the implementation of a new legislation covering hydrocarbon development in January 2015.

A draft of the legislation, which includes the introduction of a tax providing the state a share in the profits of the exploitation of natural resources, should be introduced in the first half of this year commented Maciej Grabowski, Deputy Minister of Finance, in an interview with PAP.

"I can not imagine that this semester there was a draft tax on hydrocarbon production and related regulations. Do not assume any delay here, this bill is a priority. Our intention on this tax is such that it has no negative impact on the market. First we want to provide investors with stable investment conditions. Second, we want the Treasury have income from extraction of non-renewable raw materials," said Grabowski.
