Dow Jones: Polish PM: Both Shale Gas And Nuclear Are Priorities For Country

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Thursday that the development of both shale gas and nuclear energy are priorities for the country and denied that the country's ambition to build its first nuclear power plant is flagging.

"For the Polish government, nuclear energy and, of course, investments in shale gas are priorities," Mr. Tusk said. "Nothing has changed in this regard."

On Wednesday, Krzysztof Kilian, chief executive officer of Poland's largest power utility, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA, said the two flagship energy security projects, nuclear and shale, were mutually exclusive, and suggested that Poland had to choose one or the other.  MORE
