PX Group to operate Norwegian LNG plant
UK infrastructure management company PX Group (PX) has been appointed operator of the North Sea Midstream Partners (NSMP) Risavika LNG plant (RLP) in Norway, the company said January 27.
RLP uses renewable energy and processes Norwegian offshore gas for shipping, road transport and heating. The plant has a capacity of 300,000 mt/year and mainly operates on electricity from renewable sources.

PX operates a gas terminal and gas processing plant in the UK for NSMP, but RLP is its first operational site outside the UK. It will operate as PX Norge AS.
“RLP is exciting for PX Group on a number of levels, not least because it represents PX Group’s expanding international footprint,” said Geoff Holmes, CEO of PX. “It’s also our first major LNG site, which is in our capability sweet spot. LNG plays a critical role in the energy mix and is a component in the transition to lower-carbon sources of energy for sectors such as maritime.”
