Qatargas Signs 3-Year Deal with Turkey's Botas
Qatargas has signed an agreement with Turkish state-owned Botas to supply 1.5mn metric tons/yr of LNG for three years, Qatargas said September 20.
“Our relationship with Botas has evolved from supplying spot cargoes to the current medium term deal, and we look forward to providing Botas with reliable, clean energy for many years to come,” said Qatargas CEO Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Commencing October 1, 2017, this agreement provides for the supply of LNG from Qatargas 2. It will be delivered onboard Q-Flex vessels to either the Egegaz LNG Terminal, the Marmara LNG Terminal, or to the Etki LNG terminal, all in Turkey.
Egegaz and Marmara are both onshore import terminals whereas Etki, opened late 2016, is a floating terminal operated by Engie jointly with Turkish partners Kolin and Kalyon.
Qatargas 2 includes two LNG trains each with a capacity of 7.8mn mt/yr of LNG and 0.85mn mt/yr of LPG, condensate production of 90,000 b/d, a fleet of 14 ships and a receiving terminal.
