Qatari emir to discuss global energy security with Biden
US president Joe Biden will be meeting with Qatari emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the White House on January 31, said press secretary Jen Psaki on January 26.
The discussion will cover a range of regional and global issues, including security and prosperity in the Gulf and the Middle East, including the stability of global energy supplies, support for Afghanistan, as well as commercial and investment cooperation between the US and Qatar, the White House said. The US government is working with countries and companies across the world on providing extra gas supplies to Europe in the event of a disruption in Russian gas transit via Ukraine.
