Real Energy Set to Test Cooper Basin Gas Well

Cooper Basin focused oil & gas exploration company, Real Energy is moving towards testing phase of the Tamarama-1 well.

The company is now very close to unlocking significant value from its Cooper Basin gas asset after it concluded the five-stage fracture stimulation program of Tamarama – 1 well late last month. The well is located in the Windorah gas project in ATP 927P, Cooper Basin, Queensland, Australia. Program was designed to test Toolachee & Patchawarra formations below 2,300 metres.

Real Energy on Monday stated that following completion of the five stage fracture stimulation program at Tamarama-1, the well has unloaded some frac fluids and sands. The company has now decided to mobilise a coiled tubing unit which will speed up the clean up of the wellbore in order to move into the flow testing phase as soon as possible. The coiled tubing operation is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Real Energy expects to carry out the flow back and test the gas flows shortly.

The company has 100 percent ownership in three large permits in Queensland – ATP 917P, ATP 927P & PLR2014-1-4. It is focusing initially on the Toolachee and Patchawarra formations. These formations are well- known throughout the basin for holding and producing gas.

With demand for natural gas growing in the eastern states of Australia, Real is confident it is well positioned to further exploit its 100 percent-owned acreage in the Cooper Basin, Australia’s premier onshore oil & gas province.

The company has an independently estimated total mean gas in place of 13.76 TCF and a maiden 3C gas resource of 672 BCF.
