Reliance, BP to start MJ field off India in Oct-Dec 2022
Reliance Industries (RIL) on July 23 said it expects first gas from the MJ field offshore India’s east coast during the October-December quarter of 2022. MJ field is the last of the three projects RIL and UK major BP are developing in KG basin.
RIL said the first offshore installation campaign has been completed and the second will start in November this year. RIL and BP are developing three deepwater gas projects at KG D6 – R Cluster, Satellites Cluster and MJ – which together are expected to meet about 15% of India’s gas demand by 2023. These projects will utilise the existing hub infrastructure in KG D6 block. RIL is the operator with a 66.67% participating interest and BP holds a 33.33% participating interest.
