NGE Notes: Report Says Active Interest in Exxon's Polish Shale Gas Concessions

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports that there is high interest in Exxon's six licenses for the exploration of shale gas in Poland.

The newpaper claims that Polish state-owned oil refiner Grupa Lotos is expressing strong interest.  Possible values range between $47 million and $73 million per license.

Total SA and Hutton Energy have also been mentioned as potential purchasers however Hutton advised Natural Gas Europe that it had no intention to re-open discussions with ExxonMobil about its concessions.

Exxon announced that it was concluding its search for shale gas in Poland after intial drilling at two sites failed to demonstrate sustained commercial hydrocarbon flow rates.
