RIL-BP to Conduct Final Tests at New KG Basin Gas Find
Reliance Industries (RIL) and BP are expected to conduct final test at a gas column recently discovered in the KG Basin off the coast of east India, Economic Times reported.
“Drill stem tests will be conducted next week at the MJ-1 exploration well spud by RIL in D1 and D3 gas field in KG-D6,” a source told Economic Times.
This is the first well RIL has drilled in last five years. Before the drill test, RIL estimated reserves of 819 bcf and 56 barrels of oil, the newspaper said.
The MJ-1 well is in the same area where RIL said in April it discovered a new gas deposit below its existing D1 and D3 fields.
