Rosneft Discovers Gas Condensate Field Offshore Vietnam
Rosneft’s local subsidiary discovered a gas condensate field offshore Vietnam, the company said on Thursday.
“Drilling operations carried out in the shelf of Vietnam from Hakuryu-5 semi-submersible drilling rig were completed in Q2 2016. PLDD well discovered Wild Orchid gas condensate field at Block 06.1. Volume of reserves and commercial attractiveness of the discovery are to be confirmed. There is a potential synergy, given the proximity of Lan Tay platform which is also operated by RN-Vietnam,” the company stated.
Rosneft Vietnam B.V. owns 35% of the project and is the project operator. The PSC area comprises two gas condensate fields – Lan Tay and Lan Do. The deposits are located 370 km off the coast in the Nam Con Son basin with a sea depth of up to 190 m. The field's initial gas reserves are about 68 billion cubic meters. According to Rosneft website, till June 2015, the block had produced more than 46 bcm of gas.
Meanwhile Rosneft said its average daily hydrocarbon production was 5.21 mmboed in H1 2016, increasing by 0.7% vis-a-vis H1 2016. Company's gas output was up by 7% in H1 to 33.23 bcm due to new capacity additions.
