Reuters: Slovak pipeline to Ukraine fully booked until 2019 - operator

A Slovak pipeline able to carry gas from the European Union into Ukraine has been booked to ship 10 billion cubic metres annually until 2019, representing nearly 20 percent of Ukraine's yearly demand, a spokesman for the pipeline operator Eustream said on Tuesday.

EU member Slovakia and Ukraine signed a deal in April that allowing the EU to send a limited amount of gas to Ukraine through an unused pipeline now being upgraded.

Russia cut off gas supplies to Ukraine on June 15 citing unpaid bills in the third such standoff in a decade.

Eustream, which operates the Vojany-Uzohrod pipeline, said last week that multiple shippers had submitted binding bids for capacity to transport gas to Ukraine without giving specific details.
