Saipem scores $400mn in Middle East, West Africa contracts
Italian engineering contractor Saipem reported on April 5 it had been awarded offshore drilling contracts worth over $400mn in the Middle East and West Africa.
The company has secured two contracts in the Middle East for two high specification drilling units that will undertake drilling and workover operations over five years, beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. Both contracts include additional two-year options.

Saipem did not disclose the customer.
In West Africa, the company has been awarded a contract by Italy's Eni for an offshore drilling campaign, due to start this month. The work will be undertaken by the Saipem 12000 sixth-generation ultra-deep-water drillship over a six-month period, and potentially a further 10 months.
