Samsung Heavy Wins Order for 10 LNG-Fuelled Crude Carriers

South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries has received an order worth won 751.3bn ($621mn) to build 10 LNG-fuelled crude oil carriers, it said August 19.

These vessels will be delivered by January 2022 to an Oceanian customer, the company said.

With this deal, Samsung Heavy has achieved 54% of its annual order target of $7.8bn. The company has bagged orders for 29 vessels which include 11 LNG and 14 crude carriers, it said.
