Santos Sees 10% Jump in Output

Santos has reported a 10% jump in annual production to 52.1 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe) and December quarter production of 13.2 mmboe, up 13% compared with same period last year.

December quarter natural gas, ethane and LNG production was 18% higher than the corresponding quarter, primarily due to stronger production from the Carnarvon, Cooper and Otway Basins, combined with higher output from Darwin LNG and GLNG.

The company highlighting some key activities said that PNG LNG capacity increased to 6.9 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and the operator confirmed the project remains on track for first LNG in 2014.

It also said that GLNG is now 45% complete and remains on track for first LNG in 2015.

Santos Chief Executive Officer David Knox said new producing assets such as Reindeer and Chim Sáo, combined with strong Cooper oil production, drove a 10% lift in Santos’ output in 2012.
