Schlumberger exec to join SeekOps' advisory board
US-based methane sensor tech company SeekOps has tapped long-time Schlumberger executive Dr Simon Bittleston to join its advisory board, the firm said on July 29.
Bittleston spent 35 years at Schlumberger, serving in a range of senior positions including vice president for research, vice president for product development and manufacturing, and vice president for mergers and acquisitions. He also co-founded Schlumberger Corporate Venturing Groups.
"Simon’s insights will greatly aid SeekOps’ long term growth into the oil and gas, renewable natural gas and landfill markets as we scale our operations globally," SeekOps CEO Iain Cooper commented. "His strong focus on rigorous science, and the importance of balancing innovation and process, will reinforce the discipline already established at SeekOps to deliver high quality emissions quantification services anywhere in the world. His expertise will also be key to our broadening engagement in the academic community as we continue to incorporate the newest, proven innovations into our products and services.”
"I am looking forward to engaging with the SeekOps’ management team and particularly with the R&D organisation as they bring world class monitoring and interpretation systems to aid major reductions in greenhouse gas emissions," Bittleston said in a statement.
SeekOps fits its lightweight SeekIR sensors on unmanned aerial systems (UASs) that both transmit first-look data to operators in real-time, and provide detailed quantification of methane emissions. An interview with Cooper can be read here.
