SDX Energy spuds MA-1X well at South Disouq

London-listed SDX Energy on May 26 announced the spudding of the MA-1X exploration well, targeting the Mohsen prospect in South Disouq in Egypt.

MA-1X is expected to reach the total depth in approximately three weeks. The well is targeting an estimated gross unrisked P50 estimated ultimate recovery of 21bn ft3 and has a 45% chance of success, the company said. MA-1X is the third and final well in the 2022 South Disouq drilling campaign.

This well is targeting the basal Kafr El Sheikh play, where SDX has five successful wells to date in the Ibn Yunus, Sobhi and Warda fields.
