Senex Energy's CSG Resources See a Rise

Australia’s Senex Energy has seen a boost in its coal seam gas (CSG) asset base following further exploration and appraisal success in its Queensland Surat Basin permits. Its net reserves and resources now stand at 598 petajoules (PJ).

Senex and its joint venture partners have agreed work programs that will see a total of 11 wells drilled across the company’s four permits throughout the next 12 months, with pilot programs to follow. The focus of these programs is to continue to delineate this material gas resource and further build 2P reserves.

Senex holds interests in four Surat Basin coal seam gas permits: ATP 771P and ATP 593P (Senex 45% and Operator), known as the Don Juan Project, are located in the western Surat Basin, north west of Roma and close to infrastructure. PL 171 (Senex 20%) and ATP 574P (Senex 30%) are located on the eastern Surat Basin, surrounded by permits that are currently being developed to supply LNG projects.
