Ninamedia: Start of construction of the South Stream – will not be late

Construction of compression stations is planned for this year, and next year pipes will be laid over our country's territory. With the special law on the South Stream, conditions are made for getting necessary permits and for construction of this major gas pipeline through Serbia, in which around €1.7 bln will be invested, stated Vojislav Vuletić, President of Serbian Association for Gas.

This law will establish the special rules for complete expropriation of the land on the route of the gas pipeline, which will include around 10,000 lots, and user of expropriation is South Stream Novi Sad Company. This company is a joint venture of Srbijagas (49% stake) and Russian Gazprom (51% stake). When he was asked if it is true that construction of the South Stream through Serbia will be postponed for January 2013, Vuletić said that there will be no delay here.

Head of Srbijagas Dušan Bajatović said that workers of this enterprise are already visiting lot owners, and 4,000 of them already agreed to sell their land to the state.
