Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic conferred with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kremlin on Wednesday. According to earlier announcements, the agenda of the talks covered an entire series of issues, from bilateral relations and the South Stream pipeline to Russian investments and other matters.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic noted that the scope of Russian investments in Serbia is considerable, and Putin said that the Kremlin does not expect a preferential treatment for its investments.

Speaking about today’s investment conference in Moscow, Putin said that Serbia presented a great number of projects worth several billion dollars.

Nikolic said that was the very reason why he wanted to come to the investment conference in Moscow, adding that he is doing everything in his power to connect business partners from Serbia and Russia.  

Nikolic also said that Serbia presented “an entire catalogue of projects” at the investment conference.

Putin noted that there is a good scope of Russian investments in Serbia, worth USD 1.2 billion.

Regardless of our good relations, we do not expect any preferential treatment for our investments, Putin said.

Replying to Nikolic’s expression of hope that the realization of the South Stream project would start soon, Putin said that, with that project, the Serbian government would also get EUR 1.9 billion. MORE
