Sevan Inks LNG Pact with Fluor
Sevan Marine through its subsidiary HiLoad LNG has entered into a co-operation agreement with US engineering group Fluor for global projects that use HiLoad’s floating regasification dock (FRD) technology.
“This is a strong acknowledgement of the development work done by HiLoad LNG to introduce a cost-efficient technology for LNG regasification and LNG transfer applications; the agreement will grow our businesses by complementing each company’s strengths for unique customer solutions for floating LNG storage and regasification units,” said Sevan Marine’s CEO Reese McNeel.
“This agreement gives us the capability to evaluate and deliver both marine- and land-based LNG storage and regasification solutions,” said Pierre Bechelany, senior vice president of pipelines and LNG for Fluor, citing its fabrication yard capabilities, including our COOEC-Fluor yard in China.
Sevan's FRD is presented as a tsunami-resistant and cost-effective terminal for offshore mooring and discharge of standard LNG tankers, including their regasification for volumes up to 400mn ft³/d and compression into gas pipelines to shore. Sevan remains in talks over its possible use in the Philippines.

Sevan Marine now has strong partners for both LNG regas and liquefaction, as ExxonMobil February 24 entered into a long-term frame agreement with the Norway-based firm for use of Sevan Marine’s cylindrical hull technology – with a focus on Exxon’s Scarborough floating liquefaction project.
