Shell asks Ukraine for incentives to develop shale gas
UKRINFORM reports that Royal Dutch Shell is asking the Fuel and Energy Ministry of Ukraine to modify the rules for shale gas production in the country, quoting Kommersant-Ukraine.
Shell stated that they intend to invest in this segment, provided that a large area is offered for development, the license is extended and tax incentives are introduced.
The Fuel and Energy Ministry is ready to initiate these changes.
According to National Agency for Efficient Use of Energy Resources, the stock of shale gas in Ukraine is between 2 to 23 trillion cubic meters.
