Shell CFO steps down

Shell CFO Jessica Uhl will step down from her position on March 31 as she is unable to relocate to the major's new headquarters in the UK, the company said on March 1.

Shell shareholders backed proposals in December to move its headquarters to London, change its tax residence to the UK and simplify its share structure. The move was criticised strongly by the Dutch government, while the UK government welcomed it as a post-Brexit coup.

Uhl will leave her role on March 31, and will be replaced by Sinead Gorman, the current vice president for Shell's upstream business, the company said on March 1. Shell said that "due to family circumstances, a long-term relocation to the UK is not sustainable for Uhl."
