Shell launches gas flow from Mabrouk North East field in Oman

Shell has launched gas flow from the Mabrouk North East field at Block 10, Oman's energy ministry on January 18 reported,  estimating that production from the project would reach 0.5bn ft3/day by mid-2024.

Shell signed a concession agreement with Oman's state-owned OQ, Marsa LNG, a joint venture between OQ and TotalEnergies, and Oman's energy ministry to develop Block 10's gas in December 2021. The gas will be supplied to Oman's LNG facilities and used by local industries.

Shell has a 54.4% interest in the concession, while OQ and Marsa LNG have shares of 13.4% and 33.2% respectively. The block is located in Saih Rawl in the Al Wusta governorate.
